I'm Matteo Stoppa, an engineering and innovation leader with a background spanning aerospace, applied research, hardware product development and technology entrepreneurship.
My career began in space-related biomedical engineering at Thales Alenia Space, where I helped deliver the first integrated wearable system for space. I then earned a PhD in aerospace medicine and wearable technologies at Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia and Politecnico di Torino, with research collaborations involving King's College London, MIT, ESA and Dainese.
Since then I have led multidisciplinary teams and managed R&D and product programs — taking complex hardware from concept through testing, certification, production and market. I've co-founded and run high-tech startups with two successful exits (including Sherlock, acquired by the Viasat Group).
As Chief Innovation Officer at COESA, I currently lead new product and service development, corporate growth strategy, digital transformation and innovation projects — combining technical vision with execution.
